100 Years

Sorry I haven't posted in ages.

My good friend Jillian Schmid spoke last Wednesday night at church. She did a talk based on Nickelback's Saving Me. It was really great. She talked about how God tells us to number our days. I'm kinda gonna go off of what she said. First check out this video:

I absolutely love this video. It also reminded me of what Jillian had to say.

God has determined our days. Job 14:5 says, "A person's days are determined; you [God] have decreed the number of his months and have set limits he cannot exceed." And then in Psalm the idea is furthered, "Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom" (Psalm 90:12). Now I can almost guarantee that none of us will live exactly 100 years. We don't know when we will die, we could die tomorrow or live for many years to come. However, what I think the writer of Psalm 90 was trying to say is that we should all live like we were dying (also a good song by Tim McGraw, check it out.) We should live life with no regrets.

Say you knew you were dying, would you have any regrets? Pslam 144:4 talks about how are lives are, "like a breath; their days are like a fleeting shadow." Our lives are only a millisecond in comparison to eternity. Are we going to make them matter? Instead of wasting time, live your life for God. Spread the Gospel every moment you get. Live for God.

Life is short, are you going to make it count?
